Women in Leadership:
Strategies from FTSE 350 organisations leading the way
Our new research report reveals the practices, strategies, and leadership behaviours that have enabled a number of FTSE 350 organisations to make substantial progress in advancing female representation in leadership roles. It was conducted in collaboration with the FTSE Women Leaders Review, the Chartered Management Institute and Balance the Board, and sponsored by Grant Thornton UK, PGIM, Leathwaite and AlixPartners.
Unlike other initiatives and reports which focus on tracking and measuring progress, this study uncovers how progress is being made by revealing what the most successful organisations have in common. The research provides practical, actionable insights and serves as a valuable resource for those looking to replicate effective strategies and accelerate their own journey toward greater female representation at leadership levels.
The full 50-page research report which contains deep analysis and in-depth case studies from leading organisations is only available to Encompass Equality member organisations. Why Women Leave
Find out Why Women Leave and how gender influences retention
Our 2023 cross-industry research of over 4,000 women looked at the factors that impact women’s decisions on whether to stay with or leave their employer. The research was updated in May 2024 to include new data from 1,400 men which revealed important differences between men and women in terms of the factors that influence their decisions about staying with their employer.
The clear message from the research is that the key to retention isn’t to fix women, it’s to fix organisations.
